About This Project
This project was undertaken to provide further sport and fitness facilities to Ordsall Park, Salford. We installed a MUGA, Trim Trail and the UK's FIRST stand alone cricket cage. Cage cricket is a new concept to allow cricket to be played in a smaller controlled space and in a shorter time than traditional cricket.

Cage cricket is the brainchild of former Hampshire player Lawrence Prittipaul and is backed by Stuart Robertson, the man who invented Twenty20. The game is played in a "cage" with coloured zones for scoring and positioning and each game takes 30 overs to complete with just six players. The initiative is being backed by Ian Botham who said: "It is a fresh new approach to the game and something that is fun, exciting and competitive. If a lad can go from beach cricket to playing for the West Indies, then why can't we have a vehicle that does the same in our urban areas? I think cage cricket is it."
