River Sow Walkway
Client: Stafford Borough Council
Value: £245,000
This project was undertaken to improve the access along the River Sow walkway. Our works included the removal of existing pavings and replacing with new Marshalls granite and light grey paving, installation of a new handrail adjacent to the river, resurfacing the foot bridge over the river and new handrails, provision of street lighting, installation of new street furniture, etc.
The footpath provides access along the river Sow to the adjacent Civic Centre and Shopping Centre which was in use for the duration of the works. Works were carefully programmed to ensure access was maintained at all times. This meant the works to replace the surfacing along the access/egress routes to the Civic Centre/Retail Outlet were undertaken outside of their working hours (after 6:30pm Monday to Saturday and/or on Sundays).
