City is best for bikers thanks to park track
Platt Fields Park has helped Manchester to be named the best place in Britain for BMX bikers.
The Fallowfield park hosted two rounds of the BMC National Series during the summer, as part of a national competition.
And now the park has been voted as the top track by riders, spectators and organisers for having the best facilities for both competitors and onlookers.
The track is home to the Manchester BMX Club, which offers coaching, racing, and practice sessions. Councillor Mike Amesbury, Manchester City Council’s executive member for culture and leisure, said: ‘We’re delighted with how well the BMX track at Platt Fields Park has been received and with the fantastic reaction amongst those in the industry.’
