Countryside Management
Horticon offer a full range of countryside management services including habitat creation and repair, wildlife gardens and the installation of wildlife exclusion fencing.
Habitat creation is a planning condition on many projects where protected species may have been affected by the works and it can range from the construction of a single hibernacula to planting a new woodland area. We have experience in planting and maintaining hedgerows, woodlands and forest areas for a range of clients including utility companies, local authorities and private land owners.
The great crested newt is classified as a European endangered species and therefore its habitats are protected under government legislation. On projects being undertaken where Great Crested Newts are present it is a legal requirement to protect them and this often involves installing exclusion fencing. We work closely with Clients and Ecologists to install, maintain and finally remove the fencing and bucket traps. We offer temporary, semi-permanent and permanent solutions. Our experience allows us to offer advice and guidance and ensures we are fully compliant with all legislation.
