About This Project
This project comprised the restoration of the Roman amphitheatre at Chester. We worked closely with the site archaeologist throughout the project, in particular when carrying out excavations and stonework. Work was carried out with the upmost care to preserve the history of the site. The completed project has allowed the public to view interpretations of the roman walls lost in recent times, benefit from new access routes into the heart of the amphitheatre whilst also enjoying enhanced viewing and seating facilities.
This project received a 'Commendation' from the Civic Trust at the 'New Years Honours list 2011' for the excellent work undertaken at the Amphitheatre.
More details can be found in the July issue of the Ecclesiastical and Heritage World.
