About This Project
This project was undertaken following drainage issues which resulted in the School Car Park and some of the classrooms being flooded. The aim of this project is to provide resilience to the public sewer network and help any future floods soakaway.
The scheme involved the installation of an ACO drain across the front of the School and additional gully’s which takes water into a new soakaway area in the School Play area. Hard paved areas were turned into planting beds with raingarden soil which also had an overflow to the Swales.
Due to the urgency of the works, the project could not be carried out over the School Summer Holiday. We therefore programmed to carry out the most intrusive works within the one weeks October half term with the less intrusive works to follow in a live School environment.
