About This Project
Alder Hey Hospital undertook a land swap agreement with Liverpool Council. They built a new hospital on the former Springfield Park site and subsequently built a new public park on the former hospital site.

We undertook Phase 1 works which involved the capping of the former demolition site and subsequent hard and soft landscaping works to create a park next to Alder Hey Hospital. Works included the construction of over 500m of 3m wide footpaths/cycleways and a carpark with an attenuation tank, soiling up, seeding, tree planting and installation of street furniture.

Upon successful completion of Phase 1 we were awarded Phases 2 and 3 to construct the next phase of the park which included 2no Sport England specification football pitches, a MUGA, destination play area, over 1km of 3m wide tarmac footpaths, wildflower meadow establishment, street lighting and street furniture.

Extensive SUDS features were installed including French drains, a 2500m2 swale with attenuation basin and 3no 6m deep soakaways to prevent water from entering the sewer system.
