Fountain Square Covid Memorial Openned

As Sheffield Council’s Landscape Framework Partner Horticon were engaged to undertake improvement works to Fountain Square in order for it to house a new Covid Memorial.

Works had to be completed prior to the 3-year anniversary of the start of the Covid 19 Lockdown in March 2023. Works included lifting and relaying York stone paving on a new sub base, laying new Yorkstone paving where required, creation of new accessible levels with ramps and handrail, refurbishment of site furniture and railings, stone cleaning, and soft landscaping works.

Feature lighting was also installed. We worked closely with our Electrical Subcontractors and the nominated Feature manufacturer to ensure the works were completed in time for the memorial event.

Upton Village Green Playground Opening

On Sunday 17th March, Oliver Peace, Upton athlete, unveiled the new play area at Upton Village Green.

The opening was attended by local residents who had the chance to meet Oliver and try out the newly installed equipment. For the event there were also bouncy castles, drinks and snacks to provide a fun day out for the attending families.

We worked with Groundwork, the designers and Sutcliffe Play, the equipment providers, to deliver this all ability play area with inclusive play equipment including an inclusive roundabout, dish, and springie.

Here are some photos from the opening day event on Sunday 17th March 2019.
